On Saturday, September 1, Beijing City International School (BCIS) held its Welcome Back Barbecue. Students, parents, teachers, and staff gathered to greet new and old friends get in their school-year groove.

Adapting to the wet and smoggy weather, BCIS moved the event indoors to the middle and high school cafeteria. But no one seemed to mind; the atmosphere was jovial in the cafeteria as families mingled and noshed on Indian food, sub sandwiches, and tasty Texas barbecue. Open to the entire community, the barbecue was not only a fun way to ease back into school, but also the ideal opportunity to integrate the Shuangjing family community.
