Keli Dias comes from São Paulo, Brazil and has lived in China for four years – two in Beijing and two in Tianjin. Before becoming a parent, she worked as a production engineer. Following the birth of her son Gabriel (now 2), she became interested in early childhood theories. She recently completed an eight-week course at the International Montessori Training Institute (IMTI) in Beijing. After that, she’ll do a nine-month teaching internship in a Montessori kindergarten. When it comes to makeup, Dias usually goes au naturel except for a bit of mascara and lip balm. She admits to only trimming her thick, wavy locks every three to four months. To give this hardworking mom a break, we entrusted her to the hair wizards at Toni & Guy Oriental Plaza.

Get The Look:
1 Stylist Malou Claessens kept Dias’ hair long, but broke up its flatness with layers. After misting Dias’ hair to fight dryness, Claessens divided it into more manageable sections and trimmed each in turn. She cut shorter layers in front, which created flattering, face-framing pieces and added more volume to the crown.
2 Colorist Lisa Lu refreshed Dias’ highlights to cover up her dark brown roots and hints of gray hair. She used Very Light Mat Brown from L’Oréal as a base color and Ultra Light Blonde for the highlights. After waiting 45 minutes for the color to set, Claessens washed Dias’ hair and applied a toner to reduce the yellow in the highlights. She finished up by blow drying her hair with a flat brush.
3 Makeup artist Kenny Li used a combination of Bobbi Brown, Makeup Forever, and MAC cosmetics to bring out Dias’ natural features. He evened out her skin tone with cream foundation and concealer, then highlighted her eyes with liquid black eyeliner. He finished off by contouring her cheeks with powder blush and applying a light, shimmery lip gloss.
