September 16th marked the opening of Parkview Green (Fangcaodi), an exciting new building with high standards for sustainable development. The luxurious yet efficient complex features a membrane roof and a triple-glass cover that encloses the whole shopping mall, art gallery, boutique hotel, and office space. It will also include the first ever visa center (scheduled to open in October) within a shopping mall.
The glass pyramid cover forms a natural ventilation system and provides UV protection. Parkview Green FangCaoDi has been presented multiple awards for its innovative steps forward. Here are just a few of them:
- 2010 presented with the MIPIM Asia “Best Green Building” Award
- 2011 presented with International Green Award Copper Award for “Best Green Intelligence Architecture”
- 2012 presented with the Green Building Award “Asia Pacific Grand Award”

The gallery merges Western art with that of Contemporary Chinese artist, such as Luyan Wang, Wenling Chen, Guangyi Wang, and Xiaowu Gao.
For interested art and architecture buffs, or for anyone interested in the green development of the building, there will be three public tours every day from September 22 to October 21. The tour guide will provide information about Parkview Green’s artwork and architecture.
