Extra, extra! For all the film buffs out there, the European Independent Film Festival (ÉCU) is coming to Beijing this Saturday, November 3 for a special screening at the Western Academy of Beijing. The event runs from 7pm to 9.30pm and will be introduced by festival president and Australian director Scott Hillier (Behind the Eyes of War).
This marks the first time that the festival comes to Asia, and is part of ÉCU’s On-the-Road 2012 series – in which the fest travels around the world following the main event in Paris, France. Seven to nine award-winning short films will be screened; they represent ÉCU’s 2011-2012 “Official Selection" and cover a wide ranges of genres.
This Saturday, all screenings will take place at WAB’s BLU Theater; there will be an introduction by Hillier, as well as a Q&A period afterwards. Tickets cost RMB 50 for adults and RMB 30 for students aged 12 and over only. For event details, click here.
