Facial hair has a lot of uses: disguise, warmth retention, creating market demand for razors. But this month being Movember, facial hair is good not only for raising money for men’s health research, but it’s also good for ball hockey at the Canadian International School of Beijing (CISB). This Friday, November 30, CISB is holding its Movember Mashup ball hockey tournament fundraiser to celebrate a successful month of mustaches, goatees, and Sheriff-of-Nottingham-style combos.
Genetically predisposed not to have facial hair? Pick up a magic marker and draw one on or snap up a provided prop mustache, because the evening is co-ed. The mashup format means that outside guests and CISB teachers get a chance to play together on four-on-four or five-on-five teams on a full gym court with a goal tender. Sticks and goalie equipment will be provided, and the cost to play is RMB 100 (spectator tickets are RMB 20), including light snacks, water, and sports drinks. However, those who can show that they have raised a minimum of USD 30 through the Movember site can have their fee waived.
The deadline to RSVP is today, Wednesday November 28. To confirm, please email Robert.hambrook@cis-beijing.com
