With all the family-friendly restaurant reviews posted from the January/February issue, there are now two new restaurants in the Pinnacle Plaza area to give a try – one with pub fare (burgers, pizza) and the other with a Hong Kong menu. It’s always nice to try something new in our neighborhood, so check these out.
Laker’s Kitchen and Pub is located back by the former Eton school area, so parking is available right next to the restaurant. When the weather warms, it may be a great place to stop for a beer or two after work, as there will be ample outdoor seating and a kids’ play structure on site. Inside are several tables for small and large groups, as well as a large stocked bar. The menu included all day breakfast, burgers and sandwiches, pizzas, salads, bar snacks and more. They have afternoon tea from 2-5pm, a small kids menu, set meals and a daily happy hour from 7-10pm. Laker’s is open from 7am-10pm daily; call 8046 1762.
Near the Jenny Wang store where Paul’s Market was for a very short time is now a Hong Kong restaurant called Dickson’s Noodle – at least I think that’s the name, as the sign only shows Chinese characters. Having noticed a lot more cars parked along the roadside by this restaurant, a friend also shared with me that it’s becoming quite the popular eatery. Just walking by you can smell the fresh food being prepared, all at reasonable prices. You can order from one of eight noodle soup dishes priced at RMB 35, or enjoy Cantonese BBQ (RMB 38) and curry dishes (RMB 38). There are chef recommendations, and Dickson will personally greet you and make sure you’re satisfied with the food and service. Dickson’s is open from 11:30am-9:30 from Tuesday through Sunday.
