Students in Mrs. McCallum’s grade 3 at the Canadian International School of Beijing (CISB) got a chance to learn about blogging while keeping up with a fellow school mate. During a unit about blogging, McCallum’s class followed the blog of Sam Orbase, a child blogger who is also a former CISB student. Before Christmas, Orbase started an initiative on her blog called “12 Days of Kindness,” in which she posted pictures and descriptions about her random acts of kindness.
The students in McCallum’s class were so inspired, the adopted the project themselves, only they decided to see how long they can continue to perform random acts of kindness, with the goal of doing so all their lives. They even got to have a Skype chat with Orbase, with whom they shared their own acts of kindness, and even got some tips and information about the challenges, joys, and technical facets of being a blogger.
