The 2013 Bookworm Literary Festival will feature several writers, illustrators, and scholars from the world of children’s and young adult literature. Our friends at The Bookworm asked their experts for some top picks.
Australian children’s book illustrator Ann James will be leading an illustration workshop for kids on Friday, March 15, 10am as part of BLF 2013. Here are some of the illustrators that inspire her.
Bio: Ann James was an art teacher and moved into designing and illustrating education publications while establishing herself as a children’s book illustrator. James co-founded Books Illustrated, a center celebrating Australian children’s literature, in particular picture books and their creators. Some of the books she has illustrated include: The Penny Pollard series, the Hannah series, The Midnight Gang, Shutting the Chooks In, Little Humpty, The Way I Love You, and Lucy Goosey. Ann James’ visit is supported by the “Hello from Australia” exhibition, funded through the CAL Cultural Fund (Australia).
