WAB Rock in the Park
The Western Academy of Beijing is holding its annual Rock in the Park event at its campus. Students and faculty members from Beijing will showcase their musical skills, with jazz music on Friday night and rock n’ roll on Saturday. Free. 3.30-7pm (Friday), 2-9pm (Saturday)
Sat, May 18
Shuangjing Street Carnival
The Shuangjing community is holding a block party for charity with games, food stalls and face painting for the kids and a beer garden for the adults. All money raised will go to Roots and Shoots. Free. 11am-5pm.

The British School of Beijing Summer Fayre 2013
The British School of Beijing is hosting its annual Summer Fayre. There will be games and activities for children and lots of fun for the whole family. All funds raised will go to local charities. RMB 10 (adults), free for kids. 11am-3pm.

Kaleidoscope Inter-School Arts Festival
Mark your calendars: The Kaleidoscope Inter-School Festival is the first event of its kind. Organized by a dedicated team of students from different international schools, the aim of the festival is to bring together young artists from around the city. There will be visual arts exhibitions, stage performances, live music, and movie screenings – all created by students. Price TBC. 5-9pm.

Live Jazz Barbecue at The Brickyard
Join a barbecue at The Brickyard featuring “secret sauce chicken,” juicy steaks, fresh trout fillets and homemade ice cream. Bonus: Watch the sun set over the Great Wall while listening to live jazz music. 6-9pm. RMB 220 (adults), RMB 110 (ages 4-12), free for kids under 4.
