Before the summer heat starts to really sizzle, The British School of Beijing (BSB) put on its own Summer Sizzle in at its Shunyi campus on Sunday, May 19. BSB’s annual Summer Fayre not only brought together families from both the Shunyi and Sanlitun campuses, but also brought Shunyi dwellers out of their villas for an afternoon of fun, sun, and water guns.
All proceeds of the day went to charity, thereby encouraging everyone to partake of all the activities in store: a chocolate tombola, dunk-the-teacher, a raffle with interesting prize, and more. Before strong winds caused the kids to move indoors to the main lobby, outside there were food booths galore, bubble and tattoo booths, sand art and drawing activities, sales of a wide variety of items, ranging from educational board games and books for the kids, to jewelry for the mums. There was entertainment aplenty as well, with a concert by the school band and a performance by jazz students from On Pointe dance studio.
