Monitoring your kid’s online activity is more difficult than it used to be, what with the growing numbers of social networks, constant messaging, and extended use of mobile phones. With all the apps out there that allow kids to share information or contain content that’s not age appropriate, a lot of parents want to monitor the apps their kids are downloading to their phones. Enter AppCertain, an app that monitors apps and will help you track what your kid downloads or purchases.
AppCertain allows you to install a security profile on your kid’s phone or iPad to monitor their app activity, and you’ll receive email updates about what has been downloaded to that phone. Included is an analysis of the app, informing you of what the app is, whether it has educational value, if it allows content sharing or location tracking, if it has adult-themed content, and if there are in-app purchases.
The app does not prevent kids from downloading apps, nor does it monitor their activity, but it educates parents on what their kids are using and whether it’s appropriate. If you want to monitor more than one device, that’s available for purchase in-app for USD 4.99. However, for monitoring one device, the app and monitoring is free.
For more information, visit AppCertain’s website.
