Once in a blue moon, you get an opportunity to help someone accomplish something great. It is a fantastic feeling, especially if that accomplishment will go on to help children do more than just zone out on technology. Red Grammer is a Grammy-nominated, award-winning singer/songwriter who specializes in music that instills positive values in young children. If you have heard his music, than you need no further explanation; you already know Red is one in a million. His passion for music and helping kids become world citizens is infectious.
A couple of years ago, I had the pleasure of helping Red make a video for his song “See Me Beautiful”from one of his live performances. He used the video for a concert that he gave at Daystar Academy at the time.
It was hard for me to believe that after more than three decades of performing live for audiences around the globe, it was his first foray into using technology beyond simple lighting and sound. I was honored to create the background video for him, and was further touched when he wanted to use my photographs for the project.
Now, Red Grammer is seeking help again to interweave his musical zeal and creativity with a bit of modern tech – this time for Red’s World. The latter will include interactive apps, music videos, games, and other content designed to help children become the “curious, confident, caring human beings they were meant to be.”
In short, Red Grammer is on a mission to do for iPads, Android and Surface tablets, and other portable devices what he has already done for tape, CD, and mp3 players over the years: make them better and safer for our children, with lots of inspiring content.
How can you help? Check out the phenomenal introduction page and video he created on Kickstarter here. You can pledge as little as USD 1 to help reach the goal of USD 66,000 that will be used to get Red’s World started. If it is half as good as Red’s intro video, the app and accompanying videos will be awesomely amazing.
The Kickstarter page contains links to seven of Red’s award-winning songs, including “Barnyard Boogie,” “See Me Beautiful,” “Listen,” and “Teaching Peace.” Gifts for pledges include autographed CDs, music downloads, Skype concerts – even a live concert anywhere in the world, if the pledge is large enough.
However much you choose to pledge, it will all go towards a worthy cause. Check out the Kickstarter page, make a donation, and get your bragging rights as a co-sponsor of what will no doubt become an award-winning app.
