Running does not necessary have to be dull and with the Color Run 5k coming to Beijing on August 10th at the 9th China International Gardens Expo, a vibrancy of colors can be expected to excite the muscles. The Color Run is unlike the traditional running race as it’s not timed and does not have a winner as people run in waves therefore making it suitable for children and adults. The run will be held for the first time in China with the Garden expo saying it expects over 10,000 participants.
People can register at thecolorrun.com.cn for RMB 160 and free for kids below 1.2 meters. Participants will get a white T-shirt, colorful powder, a disposable raincoat, a wrist strap and recyclable garbage bags. The color powder used is said to be 100 percent natural and does not harm people or the environment. There will manned color stations along the running route where after every kilometer volunteers will splash paint on the runners.
The Color Run refers to its self as the “Happiest 5k on the Planet’ paint race celebrating healthiness, happiness, individuality, and giving back to the community.
