Giant pandas are a national treasure in China and classified as endangered by the World Wildlife Foundation, with only 1,600 living in the wild as of 2004. So it was bound to happen sometime. Starting this August, giant panda lovers will get to watch these cute black and white animals live 24 hours a day through the new website www.ipanda.com (both in English and Chinese) according to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding via China Daily.
The base has installed 28 high definition video cameras that give visitors to the site six feeds to choose from. The feeds include ‘garden for adult pandas’, ‘kindergarten’, ‘nursery for twins’, ‘mother and child playground’, ‘No.1 Villa’ and ‘Featured’.
This clip shows a little one trying to make a break for it from his playpen with no such luck.
