If you drive on any of the major roads around East Wangjing, the airport express, fourth and fifth ring roads, or Jingmi Lu, it is difficult not to notice the soft curves of Wangjing SOHO soaring above the neighborhood. Taking inspiration from a Chinese rock garden, the three towers have grown to their full height over the past 12 months. Despite the rains this summer, construction is largely on schedule and towers one and two should be completed by the end of this year.
Like the Galaxy SOHO building, the Wangjing complex will be mixed-use buildings with shopping on the lower floors and offices above. The project also will have water features to delight young and old alike in the outdoor spaces and a sizeable park, adding a much-needed green space to the neighborhood. If you don’t want to wait to check out the scope of the project until it is completed, SOHO has a modern sales office with pleasant gardens on Wangjing Jie next to the Daimler building and both are open to the public. The gardens, which also feature a water fountain, afford a nice view of the construction site.
