“On the cusp of losing all our frequent flyer friends (it turns out that having to bring kilos of baby food back from every trip to Europe can get in the way of friendship), we decided the situation needed to be changed,” this is according to the website of Baby International. Baby International is a new 3 in 1 store that is currently in its soft opening stage. The store with a restaurant and playroom is located just opposite the Beijing United Family Hospital in Lido. Nils Van Doorn started Baby International after they weren’t able to get good quality children products in Shanghai, like a car seat.
Nils said in an interview that the store will not only be a place to shop but also a place to get advice as many store attendants just point you to the product but do not give you enough information to make comfortable decision. He wanted to make the store parent-friendly not only kid friendly. The shop will be selling car seats, strollers, clothes, baby formula and much more.
The restaurant and play area are yet to become operational as there are still under construction. The play area will become operational in about two weeks while the restaurant will open its doors in about two to three weeks. The restaurant will be offering pastas, sandwiches and more made by a German chef. The play area is designed to keep the little ones distracted while parents shop or eat in a safe environment.
Baby International had a store in the CBD which they have now moved to Lido so as to accommodate the restaurant and play area.
Check the Baby International website to see what they have to offer or just drop on in at the Lido store.
