There are hundreds of animals hoping to find loving homes in Beijing. If you are considering adopting a pet, Doggy/Moggy of the Week will feature animals from volunteer shelters, animal rescue groups, foster care providers, and pet owners needing to rehome animals. This week’s doggy, Sunny, is from ICVS’ Adoptable Pets.
Name: Hi Everyone! I am Snowy!
Background: I was found wandering in the streets by a very nice American college student and brought to ICVS. I had a home before but probably because I developed a serious skin infection, I was put out on the street. I have been under the care of my vets at ICVS for the past few weeks and am much better and stronger. I will be ready to go to my new adoption or foster family soon!
Personality: I am very gentle and trusting. I like people very much and enjoy cuddling and being petted. I am a young dog but already more mature and calm. I love going out for walks and playing with people and toys.
Ideal home: I’m seeking a nice adoption or foster family that is a couple or family with or without children (e.g., 10-years or older). My family should be experienced dog owner and have a lifestyle that allows them to spend a lot of time with me in the evenings and on weekends.
Breed: Small Poodle
Dog registration and Licensing: I under 35 cms from the ground to the shoulder and may be legally registered within any district in Beijing.
Sex & Age: I am a young male about 7-11 months old. I am not yet neutered. When I am ready to be neutered, the International Center for Veterinary Services will provide significant discounts on my neuter surgery!
Medical notes: I came down with Parvovirus one week after I was rescued. My vets at ICVS diagnosed my disease early and treated me with 24-hour intensive care. I have fully recovered from Parvovirus. My skin infection is nearly gone and my hair is growing back nicely. I am receiving my vaccinations and will be neutered when I have completed all my vaccines.
Post-adoption care: The International Center for Veterinary Services (ICVS) has covered the costs for all of my skin and parvovirus treatments and hospitalization as part of their Non-Profit Humane Animal Welfare Programs for the community. ICVS will also provide my new family with significant discounts (up to 50%) on follow-up examinations, vaccinations and my neuter surgery.
Official Vaccination Certificate:
With my rabies vaccination, ICVS will issue my family an official Beijing Animal Health and Immunity Certificate (e.g., vaccination red book) at no charge! I need this official vaccination red book to prove I have been legally and properly rabies vaccinated and to register for my dog license. I must have this official vaccination red book in order to move to another city or to leave China with my family.
Official Spay/Neuter Certificate for Dogs:
After my neuter surgery, ICVS will issue my new family an official Neuter Certificate that will provide my owners with a 50% discount (e.g., RMB 500.00 savings) on my dog license registration fee at the Public Security Bureau.
