Finding yourself with nothing to do? Here is a relatively easy to make Christmas craft to keep the kids busy and distracted for a while.
Difficulty: Medium
Preparation Time: 1-2 hours
Materials
A label-free, clear yogurt cup
Playdoh
Toothpicks
White cotton balls
Iridescent candy wrappers
Thin string
A few small beads
Scissors
Glue
A round chopstick
1 Use white playdoh to make two balls: one for the body and the other for the head. Flatten the body, so it can sit firmly on the lid of the cup. Real snowmen are not perfect; this one doesn’t have to be either.
2 Insert a toothpick at the top of the body. Affix the head here.
3 For the scarf, roll some playdough into a little "snake" and then gently flatten in with your round tool. Try it on first to see if it looks good before making it definitive before gently pressing it into the body.
4 For the hat, make a flat triangle.
5 Wrap it around your finger to create a cone shape. Press it gently onto the snowman’s head.
6 Add some buttons, two arms and a nose to the snowman. For the arms, use small twigs, cut down in size. Also, the nose must be affixed with a twig.
7 Next, glue the snowman to the lid and wait for it to dry. To speed up the process, put it in the fridge for a few minutes.Use the toothpick to poke two holes for the eyes.
8 Cut a small hole at the bottom of the yogurt cup, inserting the string. Loop a few beads on either side and make a knot, so it is ready to hang.
9 Cut and puff up some cotton pieces for your snow before gluing them on the lid.
10 Do the same with the candy wrappers for the effect of snow.
11 Finally, glue the lid and cup together. It should take a day to dry.
