Word from a Parent:
"My daughters Evangeline and Charity attend first grade and Kindergarten at Huijia. We arrived in Beijing just three months ago. It has been a challenging transition for our family, especially our daughters who encountered both language and cultural difficulties. Thankfully, the teachers with Huijia pay special attention to children’s individual needs, so they won’t feel isolated due to cultural differences. The classes are taught in both Chinese and English, and teachers are willing to translate for individual students in class and with homework if necessary. The teachers and staff members are willing to communicate with parents and adjust to accommodate each child. For example, my younger daughter had language difficulties in swimming class so the teacher in charge of her class went with her personally every week, helping her to put on swimwear, and interpreting the coach’s instructions. By assisting my daughter to take smaller steps, the teacher helped her build confidence. I am very thankful that at Huijia each child’s different need can be fulfilled, and that the teachers nourish each child individually. After just three months, my daughters communicate effectively in Chinese, and they have made new friends in their new home."
