There are hundreds of animals hoping to find loving homes in Beijing. If you are considering adopting a pet, Doggy/Moggy of the Week will feature animals from volunteer shelters, animal rescue groups, foster care providers, and pet owners needing to rehome animals. This week’s doggies are Cuma and Xiao Huang, who are waiting to be placed in a loving home, from ICVS’ Adoptable Pets.
Cuma and Xiao Huang were first featured on the Doggy of the Week blog in December 2013. Here is a short recap of the dogs’ information:
Name: Hi everyone, I am Cuma.
Background: I was rescued by my foster parents, Tai and Chris, after I was hit by a car. I was taken to a local animal hospital and treated for my injuries. I am now doing fine and am hoping to find a permanent forever home where I would be a happy, healthy and loving companion.
Personality: I am affectionate and social and like to be around people, often lying next to my human companions where they work or relax. I enjoy walking outdoors, meeting new friends (both human and animals) and getting hugs. I really enjoy sleeping and playing, equally.
Ideal home: I am hoping for a loving forever home. As I am an adult dog and well socialized I would be fine with a single person, a couple or family with children (e.g., 8-years or older).

Name: Good morning Beijing! I am Xiao Huang!
Background: I was a stray dog living in the 798 Art Compound. I befriended a group of kind dog lovers that fed me and treated me well. When I trusted them enough, I brought them back to my safe haven and showed them the 5 pups I had been nursing since I gave birth a couple of months ago.
My kind human friends brought me and my pups to ICVS where we have been examined by our vets and treated, vaccinated and cared for this winter. My puppies and I are so grateful to our rescuers and our doctors.
My pups are still looking for homes and you can see their story here.
I am also available for adoption and am hoping to find a loving forever home in Beijing for the new year!
Personality: I am very gentle, relaxed, trusting and sweet. I am not at all nervous and have a great temperament. I am very well socialized and would make a great companion for anyone.
Ideal home: I am fine with an individual owner or with a family with children (e.g., six-years and older). I love people and enjoy playing, going out for walks and snuggling with my human companions.
