Exercising before school gets sleepy bodies and brains moving. With that in mind, the students, teachers and parents at BISS Elementary School have been up with the larks and out on the track for the Morning Running Club. The initiative is organized by the PE department and takes place Tuesday-Friday from 7.45am-8.10am, between March 18 and April 18.
It’s main aims are preparing students for the elementary school’s upcoming sports day, and promoting health and fitness within the school.
The club meets when the AQI is under 150, and unfortunately, this has meant skipping several days since it’s instigation.
Mr Sandijs Baskevics, the PYP & MYP PE teacher at BISS has put together statistics on the club’s performance to date:
Number of Students Participating:
March 18: 52
March 19: 57
March 20: 67
March 21: 70
Here’s hoping for clear skies and ever increasing numbers when the running club reconvenes after the holidays.
