On 25th April students at Harrow International School hosted a charity event in aid of those who are still struggling in the aftermath of the typhoon that ravaged the Philippines in November 2013. We were thrilled that representatives from the Philippine Embassy were able to join us for the evening and are grateful for their donation.
As guests entered they were wowed by the school theatre, which was transformed by a range of candles and decorations. Guests were provided with drinks, food (a variety of Chinese, Western and Philippino), a themed photo area, games and a raffle.
The highlight of the evening was the music, which included both the adult and student steel bands both led by Amanda Woollam, as well as a range of student bands. The night ended with an amazing rendition of the Eagles classic Ol’ 55 and we were sad that the evening had to end.All performers had worked tirelessly in the lead up to the event and their dedication and enthusiasm shone on stage, leading to thunderous applause. They showed amazing leadership and musicianship and should feel proud of what they achieved.
While the final count is not yet complete, we are proud of the effort that our staff and student community put into raising money as well as creating a memorable evening.
