Beijing Riviera compound welcomes non-residents in using a number of its facilities. These include the restaurants, hairdresser, spa, and the Jamaica Blue Café. Recently a new branch of the April Gourmet supermarket chain opened up within the clubhouse, a very welcome addition to this part of Shunyi. The store stocks all of those essential items, except for pies. So where can you get a decent family meat pie or sausage roll? Two Guys and a Pie, and their delivery service of course. It’s not just pies you can have delivered, gourmet sausages and burgers are also available from BJ Sozzies. As we head into August, thoughts turn to the start of the school term, and with that comes after school and weekend sports activities for the kids. Sports Beijing are hosting a sports festival and registration day, towards the end of August; don’t miss out.
April Gourmet at Beijing Riviera
A new branch of the supermarket chain April Gourmet has opened up within the clubhouse of Beijing Riviera compound. The small store has a good selection of wine, imported cheeses, dairy products, cold cuts, as well as staples like bread, dried pasta, canned vegetables, cooking sauces, biscuits, and cereals. They stock a range of baking ingredients, some of which are difficult to find in other stores, including leaf gelatine and cream of tartar. There is no meat counter, just a few frozen meat items including sausages and chicken.
