Last summer, beijingkids’ Beijing Baba columnist and blogger Christopher Lay took the Chinese Landscape Painting Class at China Culture Center (CCC). You can read all about Lay’s experience here.
Chinese Landscape Painting is synonymous with Chinese art and culture. Lyrical, epic, romantic – these sweeping depictions of idealized Chinese scenery form the oldest continuous artistic tradition in the world.
For anyone wishing to understand the genre, or to add to it, CCC is again offering Chinese landscape painting classes. Take up your brush next Saturday and the Saturday following, on August 23 and August 30, from 10am-noon.
The class is in English, the group size is small, and you can sign up for one or both classes.
Anyone can join the class; from complete beginners to those who have tried the art form before. All materials are supplied: ink brush, ink, paper(made of rice & bamboo), and ink stone.
To find out more about Chinese culture, visit CCC’s website or call their office at 6432 9341.
