A new ice rink has opened up close to Quanfa Garden, dedicated to ice hockey training and coaching. The Children’s House has a few spaces left at their Montessori school, based in Yosemite. Firepower Swimming Club have released their kids swim program, and after school activities at House of Knowledge (HoK) start on September 15, with lots of fun classes available for both HoK students and those from the wider community.
New Ice Rink Open
Center Ice Asia has opened a new ice rink at Quanfa Garden. Center Ice Asia is an organization created to develop the sport of ice hockey, through a variety of on-ice and off-ice training activities. Whether it’s learning to play, skating on the treadmill, or elite training, this new facility provides players with a safe indoor environment. It has one of the only skating treadmills in Asia, as well as a synthetic ice surface. Their certified team of international hockey specialists has designed Center Ice programs to develop player’s technical skills, knowledge of the game, and the value of team sports. The Children’s House
A few spaces remain for the new semester at The Children’s House. With a history of more than 23 years in Beijing, The Children’s House is an established, small community, family school with various locations in Beijing, including Yosemite Villas in Shunyi. They accept children from 1-6 years old and have flexible schedules of morning only programs (8.30-11.20am), half-day programs (8.30am-1pm), and full day programs (8.30am-3.20pm.) They also have an after-school program, that runs until 4pm. Firepower Swimming Club
Beijing Firepower was established in 2009, focused on helping young swimmers to improve their swimming technique and ability. Their fall program runs from October 1-December 21, and includes different sessions for different levels of ability. Small Sharks is suitable for 4-6 year olds, with the Swim Gold/Silver/Bronze Team suitable for 6 years old and over. beijingkids Shunyi Correspondent Sally Wilson moved to Beijing in 2010 from the UK with her husband and son. Her daughter was born here in 2011 and both her kids keep her happily busy. In her spare time, Sally loves to stroll through Beijing’s hutongs and parks. She is a (most of the time) keen runner and loves reading: books, magazines, news, and celeb websites – anything really.
