There are hundreds of animals hoping to find loving homes in Beijing. If you are considering adopting a pet, Doggy/Moggy of the Week will feature animals from volunteer shelters, animal rescue groups, foster care providers, and pet owners needing to rehome animals. This week’s doggy, Lucky, is from ICVS’ Adoptable Pets.
Name: S’up dudes? I’m Lucky, and today’s your lucky day.
Background: I was found wandering on the street and taken home by a very kind man. My foster dad has fed me and cared for me and is hoping to find a permanent family that will adopt me.
Personality: I am a socialized, friendly and sweet dog eager to find a loving family.
Ideal home: I am fine with an individual owner, a couple or a family. My foster family has a 2-year old toddler and I am gentle and friendly with small children.
Breed: I am a Cocker Spaniel and already as big as I will ever be.
Sex & Age: I am a young, unneutered (not sterilized) male dog, about 3-years old.
Medical notes: I am healthy overall but have some minor skin and ear infections that are being treated. I should recover fully. I have already been rabies and canine distemper vaccinated. After my adoption I will be ready for my neuter surgery.
Post-adoption care: The International Center for Veterinary Services (ICVS) has enrolled me into their Rescued/Stray/Rehomed Pet Adoption Benefits Program. ICVS will provide my new family with significant discounts (up to 50%) on my health examinations, vaccinations and neuter surgery during my first year with my new adoption family.
Official Vaccination Certificate: With my next rabies vaccination at ICVS, they will issue my new family an official Beijing Animal Health and Immunity Certificate (e.g., vaccination red book) at no charge. I need this official vaccination red book to prove I have been legally and properly rabies vaccinated. I must have this official vaccination red book in order to move to another city or to leave China with my family.
Official Spay/Neuter Certificate for Dogs: ICVS will issue my adoption family the official Spay/Neuter Certificate that will provide my owners with a 50% discount (e.g., up to RMB 500.00 savings) on my dog license registration fee at the Public Security Bureau.
Puppy Obedience Training Programs at ICVS: ICVS has introduced new puppy and adult dog obedience training programs. The puppy training classes will help me and my family live a more harmonious life together! All profits from the puppy and adult dog training programs will be donated to the ICVS Non-Profit Humane Animal Welfare Programs! Please contact ICVS for more information about canine obedience training.
