There are hundreds of animals hoping to find loving homes in Beijing. If you are considering adopting a pet, Doggy/Moggy of the Week will feature animals from volunteer shelters, animal rescue groups, foster care providers, and pet owners needing to rehome animals. This week’s moggy, George, is from ICVS’ Adoptable Pets.
Name: Hi Beijing! My name is George.
Background: I have been with my current family, the Schneiders, for about 2.5 years. They must leave China and return to Europe but they cannot take me with them because some family members in Europe are allergic to cats. My family has been very good to me and is hoping to find a great new adoption family in Beijing.
I was declawed by my original family (Americans) and have been living with small children (5-10 years old) so am perfect for a family with young children. I will go to my new home with my litter box, food bowls, food, toys, brushes and cat carrier.
Personality: I am a beautiful, gentle, and calm cat. I’m great with kids. I sometimes go out into the garden where I currently live but would also be very happy as a strictly indoor cat.
Ideal home: I would be a loving companion for an individual owner, a couple or a family with children of any age.
Breed: I am a beautiful long-haired yellow and white Turkish Van cat.
Sex & Age: I am a male cat, about 4 years old. I am still young at heart and love to play and snuggle with my people.
Medical notes: I just had my health examination, vaccinations, deworming, flea and tick preventives at ICVS. I am in good health and am already neutered and declawed.
Post-adoption care: The International Center for Veterinary Services (ICVS) has enrolled me into their Rescued/Stray/Rehomed Pet Adoption Benefits Program. ICVS will provide my new family with significant discounts (up to 50%) on my health examinations and vaccinations during our first year of life together.
Official Vaccination Certificate: ICVS will issue our new family the official Beijing Animal Health and Immunity Certificate (e.g., vaccination red book) at no charge. I need this official vaccination red book to prove I have been legally and properly rabies vaccinated. I must have this official vaccination red book in order to move to another city or to leave China with my family.
