There are hundreds of animals hoping to find loving homes in Beijing. If you are considering adopting a pet, Doggy/Moggy of the Week will feature animals from volunteer shelters, animal rescue groups, foster care providers, and pet owners needing to rehome animals. This week’s doggies, Lulu and Tovy, are from ICVS’ Adoptable Pets.
Name: Hey! We brother are and sister puppies Lulu and Tovy (short for Beethoven)
Background: We were found living underneath a school on Roma Lake, out in Shunyi. We were hungry enough to come out to say hello and are friendly, tail-wagging puppies.
Personalities: Lulu is the brown female puppy and is incredibly smart and brave. She was potty trained in two days. Lulu is always ready to play and has a fun personality. She loves meeting new people and dogs. Tovy is the male puppy and is mainly white, with brown spots and a black and brown face. He is calm and stable. His favorite activity is getting his belly rubbed, and he loves to cuddle and chew on synthetic bones and chew toys.
Ideal home: We are fine with an individual owner, a couple or a family with children (e.g., 6-years and older).
Breed: We are small mixed breed dogs.
Sex and Age: We are 2 months old. Lulu is a girl and Tovy is a boy.
Medical notes: We are healthy and have already been dewormed and treated for fleas and ticks. We will start our vaccinations soon.
Post-adoption care: The International Center for Veterinary Services (ICVS) has enrolled us into their Rescued/Stray/Rehomed Pet Adoption Benefits Program. ICVS will provide our new families with significant discounts (up to 50%) on our health examinations, vaccinations and spay/neuter surgeries during our first year of life with our new families!
Official Vaccination Certificate: With our rabies vaccinations, ICVS will issue our new families the official Beijing Animal Health and Immunity Certificate (e.g., vaccination red book) at no charge! We need these official vaccination red books to prove we have been legally and properly rabies vaccinated. We must have these official vaccination red books in order to move to another city or to leave China with our families.
Official Spay/Neuter Certificate for Dogs: After our spay/neuter surgeries, ICVS will issue our adoption families the official Spay/Neuter Certificate that will provide my owners with a 50% discount (e.g., up to RMB 500.00 savings) on our dog license registration fees at the Public Security Bureau.
