Châteauneuf-du-Pape is a commune in southeastern France, which lies just to the east of the Rhône. Famous for the production of red wine, almost all the cultivable land is planted with grapevines. If you’re a fan of wines from this region, you’ll want to book a table at Loft Eatalicious, as they take you through a dining and wine-pairing tour of the Rhône Valley. If beer is more your drink of choice, you’ll be pleased to hear about Charcoal, a new Brewpub opened up in Shunyi. No longer do you need to trek to the city to enjoy the taste of true craft beers. There are more school open days taking place this month. Beanstalk International Bilingual School (BIBS) and The British School of Beijing Shunyi (BSB) are opening up their doors, giving prospective parents the chance to find out more about the different curriculum and facilities on offer.

beijingkids Shunyi Correspondent Sally Wilson moved to Beijing in 2010 from the UK with her husband and son. Her daughter was born here in 2011 and both her kids keep her happily busy. In her spare time, Sally loves to stroll through Beijing’s hutongs and parks. She is a (most of the time) keen runner and loves reading: books, magazines, news, and celeb websites – anything really. Sally is also a bit of a foodie and loves trying out new restaurants.
