Looking for a challenge this spring? How about signing up for a 12km, 24km, or 80km bike ride around the Bohai Township in the Mutianyu Great Wall area. The 6th annual Bohai or Bust Charity Bike Ride Festival takes place on April 18 and hopes to raise more funds to cater for the elderly need in their community. It’s only RMB 176 (adults) and RMB 126 (kids/students) if registration and payment are done in advance. For onsite payment its RMB 200 (adult) and RMB 150 (kids, students).
The biking routes are self-guided with the 12km being the most child friendly of them all as their are stops at a fish farm and beekeeping farm. This year the As for the other two, maps will be given before hand for people to print them out or input the coordinates in GPS apps.
There are two options for participants to bring their own bikes or rent. For those wishing to bring their own then they would have to drop off the bikes at Bicycle Kingdom on April 17 (day before the race) then catch the bus the next morning. For bike rentals, these can only be done in advance as none will be available at the site on the Bike Beijing site.
For those wishing to not take part in the cycling then The Brickyard Retreat at Mutianyu Great Wall will be the venue to get some spa treatment as this is the start and end points. There will be food, live music, an auction, and a lucky draw.
