Good news for all CBD and Sanlitun families: A new kids’ club called little oasis (all small case) is opening at Parkview Green this month. Describing itself as “an exclusive lifestyle club for the whole family,” little oasis caters to ages 0-6 and includes a café, a children’s “climbing sculpture” and playground, programs for all ages, a golf simulation room, and a spa/lounge.
The founder, Jennifer Jin Ma, is the mother of two young boys and grew up in New Zealand. Drawing on her family’s experiences living in Australia and London, her goal is to create a “holistic” space in Beijing.
The climbing sculpture was specially commissioned by little oasis from Luckey Climber, the company founded in 1985 by the late American architect Thomas Luckey to produce "climbers." The structure doubles as a piece of art and a jungle gym. The climber is designed to encourage physical activity as well as the development of motor skills and imagination in kids. Other climbers can be found in places like the Boston Children’s Museum and the Liberty Science Center in the US.
The center also features an air purification system, a mini-library, a “creativity hub” with kids’ classes, a baby park, and more. little oasis will be a members-only club by invitation or application.
Look out for a full review in the June 2015 issue of beijingkids; our May issue will be given over to the annual Home & Relocation Guide.
