Children’s Day falls on a Monday this year, but don’t let that stop you from celebrating with the kids; there’s lots to do around town to celebrate the holiday. We’ve rounded up some of the best Children’s Day events happening this weekend.
Cupcake Corner at the W Beijing
The Kitchen Table at the W Beijing will offer a special cupcake decorating corner in honor of Children’s day during its lunch hours. Every child under 12 will dine for free when accompanied by an adult. Our sources tell us there will also be a surprise gift in store for the kids. A seafood buffet will be on offer Sunday while the Kitchen Table’s weekday buffet will be served on Monday.

Every customer that comes to Pebbles Courtyard for Children’s Day will get a balloon and inside every balloon you will find a small piece of paper with a prize in it. Everyone has a chance to win. Prizes vary from beer, taco to voucher, coupons. There will be Mexican hats for the kids.

Kids and Family Improv Theatre Workshop
The Bookworm and Armada Education present a 60 minute improv workshop to bring joy, spontaneity and creativity to your whole family for Children’s Day. Improv theater is the art of creating theater without a script – and it’s hilarious for kids and adults alike. This workshop is open to kids and adults ages 8 and up, whether you’re a complete beginner or a seasoned improv fan. Afterwards, kids can join a storytelling workshop at11 am One ticket is good for both events. The storytelling workshop is good for kids 4 and up.

Parkview Green will hold three family friendly events this weekend to bring in Children’s Day themed “The Amazing Tanagram Race,” “I’m Also an Artist,” and “Little Oasis Playground.”
The Amazing Tangram Race

For Children’s Day, local brand Tang’ Roulou will offer 15 percent off kids clothes from now until Sunday, June 7.
Obentos Lanches Kids Menu
Leading up to Children’s Day on Monday, Obentos is launching a kids’ menu starting tomorrow at noon. The new menu will feature Teriyaki Chicken Bento (RMB 48) and Teriyaki Salmon Bento (RMB 58), both items have a 20 percent reduced sugar content. The restaurant will offer a special promotion: the first nine customers that order a kids menu item will get a special “Bento Lovers” t-shirt for kids. Kids’ menu will be available after 6pm during weekdays and all day during the weekend and on holidays.
Gungo Ho Pizza Box Design Competition
Gung Ho! Pizza is holding a pizza box design competition for students in celebration of Children’s Day and in anticipation of their new kids’ menu.Students who love to draw can enter the competition for a chance for their designs to be featured on Gung Ho! pizza boxes, a shout out to their school, and a pizza party for all the winning artist’s friends.The competition will be have a separate elementary and high school bracket featuring a winner from each.
