A majority of people living in Beijing love Indian food, from the curries to the plain naans – there’s bound to be a dish to cater for most tastebuds. The Conscious Food Market is hosting an Indian theme party featuring Yoga performance, Indian Tabla, Bollywood performance, Indian food vendors, colorful tunics, jewelry, spices, and Henna tattoos on June 13 from 2-7pm.
The weekly market is held at the In and Out Yunnan restaurant and so will this themed party. The food sold is a collaboration of organic farms around Beijing and chemical free products from local businesses. If you haven’t check it out then this is the best excuse to get your hands on fresh farm produce to go try out those Indian recipes.
This is what the Conscious Food Market is all about:
Conscious food is organised by Beijing Food awards and WOW nominee Bonne Nani Jams and Chutneys in cooperation with IN and OUT. We believe in Natural, Homemade, local (when possible), Organic or reasoned and sustainable farming (when feasible), Respect for the environment and support of local producers and artisans including international locals and artisans. We visit and verify the farms and producers that participate in our market. We also seek the advice of agronomist expert opinion on the products in our market. This week’s market will showcase Chuncao organic grown but not certified vegetables and mushrooms, free range hens eggs, sesame and cereals, Beijing made French sourdough and whole wheat bread as well as croissants and pastries, locally made French Jams and Indian chutneys, Organic Rice wine and French low sulfite wines, Organic beer, Cold processed soaps, natural lotion bars, shampoo bars, Enzyme made from fermented juice, Freshly brewed coffee and coffee beans, Honey by Shangrila Farms, Certified Organic cereals, flax seed oil and fruit vinegars, freshly made organic non GMO bean doufu, Tibetan Yak Yoghurt, highest quality double smoked gourmet Scottish salmon and more!
