Over 100 students were in attendance at Crowne Plaza Lido on Saturday, April 25 for the British School of Beijing (Shunyi campus’) first-ever prom. The theme of the event was “James Bond 007” and the evening was MC’d by Year 13 student May Macleod. May tells beijingkids about the special evening.
“The dance music we played was selected by students. The teachers voted on a Prom King and Prom Queen and were announced at the end. The winners each received flowers and a crown. It was an enjoyable evening.”
Though prom hasn’t been a BSB tradition in the past, PR and Community Development Manager Brenda Leung says students thought it would be a great idea to have an end of year celebration, which led to the formation of a Student Prom Committee earlier this academic year.
“The event was a success and we have marked down that the prom will be held again next year. The students hope that it will continue on to become a BSB tradition,” says Leung.
