There are hundreds of animals hoping to find loving homes in Beijing. If you are considering adopting a pet, Doggy/Moggy of the Week will feature animals from volunteer shelters, animal rescue groups, foster care providers, and pet owners needing to rehome animals. This week’s puppy comes via ICVS’ Adoptable Pets.
Name: Hi everyone, my name is Blackie (or Hei Nv).
Background: I was an abandoned puppy and was rescued by a very kind person who is taking care of me and feeding me well. I am a sweet and socialized puppy and hope to find a new family that will love me forever.
Personality: I am very friendly, playful and a little bit shy around new people. But I warm up quickly to new people and then shower you with delight each time I see you.
Ideal home: Blackie would be happy with an individual, a couple or a family with older children (e.g., 6 years and older). She will need sufficient exercise so a family with a backyard or who can walk her 3-4 times a day would be ideal. She is a wonderful dog and will be a loving and loyal companion for life.
Breed, Sex & Age: Blackie is a 4-month old female mixed breed dog. She will likely be a medium size dog.
Medical notes: Blackie has already started on her vaccinations and is due for her rabies vaccination in September. She will be ready for her spay surgery after she completes her vaccinations.
Post-adoption care: The International Center for Veterinary Services (ICVS) has enrolled me into their Rescued/Stray/Rehomed Pet Adoption Benefits Program. ICVS will provide my new family with significant discounts (up to 50%) on my health examinations and vaccinations and spay surgery during my first year of life with my new family.
Official Vaccination Certificate: With my rabies vaccination, ICVS will issue my new family the official Beijing Animal Health and Immunity Certificate (e.g., vaccination red book) at no charge! I need the official vaccination red book to prove I have been legally and properly rabies vaccinated to move to another city or to leave China with my family.
