The white chocolate Swiss roll with butterscotch topping (RMB 35) from awfullychocolate is my idea of heaven. I don’t usually opt for white chocolate desserts, as they tend to be far too sweet and sickly. The white chocolate in this concoction is incredibly light and creamy, like a delicate white chocolate mousse. With that is an incredibly moist sponge, all coated in a thick and unctuous layer of wonderfully rich butterscotch.
The sea salt chocolate brownie (RMB 27) has a dense texture, with an intense chocolate flavor. I love sea salted caramel, almost as much as butterscotch, and the caramel that tops off this brownie is a delight. It’s a generous layer of soft caramel with a crisp outer surface.
The layered chocolate cake (RMB 27) incorporates several layers of moist sponge, interspersed with a rich chocolate ganache. The whole slice of cake is enveloped in a glossy chocolate icing. Portion sizes for all of their cakes and desserts are generous, enough for two people to share. Also available is an impressive looking crème brulee, a tart, and a jar of tiramisu. Their mooncakes (RMB 180 for a box of 6) look pretty indulgent too.
If you’ve a celebration coming up, why not order a whole cake. Their layered chocolate cakes come in two sizes; 6” RMB 160 and 8” RMB 320. Flavors include chocolate, chocolate with banana, and chocolate with rum and black cherries.
