Halloween Origami
There are still a few spaces available for Tomoko’s Halloween themed origami classes for kids. The classes are run on Fridays 4.30-5.30pm, at River Garden villas in Shunyi. RMB 60 includes all materials. Kids will be shown how to create a Halloween wreath (October 23) and a bag for trick-or-treating (October 30). A weekend class will take place on Saturday October 24, from 10am-12noon. RMB 120 and in this class, kids will also get to make a Jack-O-Lantern. To register, email happiesttomoko@hotmail.com.
Roundabout Halloween Sale
If you’re hunting for costumes for you and the kids, and decorations for the house, head over to Roundabout and take advantage of their big Halloween sale. If they don’t have what you’re looking for, Kids Plus and Jenny’s at Pinnacle Plaza are stuffed to the gills with screeching bats, howling ghouls, broomsticks, and spiders. There are costumes for all ages, and plenty of fake fangs and vials of blood to ensure the whole family will look the part this year.
Sew Gorgeous Open House Sale
Thursday November 5, from 9.30am-12.30pm at House 128, Section A, Yosemite Villas. Everyone is welcome and there’s no need to RSVP. The Sew Gorgeous Community Project will be showcasing a new range of bags, homeware items, and decorations made from fabulous felt! The Sausage Club
Beijing’s longest running sausage delivery service has opened a store and café in Shunyi. Balmain Gourmet Meat & Grill is located on Yu Yang Road, just across from Gahood Villas and Yosemite A. Drop in to sample any of their homemade meat products, at no cost to you. Drew is an Australian Chef who has been making meat products for six years in Beijing. Providing a delivery service weekly on Tuesday’s, with a large selection of gourmet beef, lamb, pork, and chicken sausages, beef and lamb burgers, sausage rolls, traditional bacons, and Italian pancetta. beijingkids Shunyi Correspondent Sally Wilson moved to Beijing in 2010 from the UK with her husband and son. Her daughter was born here in 2011 and both her kids keep her happily busy.
