Hope International School (HIS) students will perform their rendition of Christian play Remember the Baby tomorrow night at the schools Crab Island location in Shunyi. Remember the Baby is an original play by professor of drama at New Hope Christian College in the US, Danell Bemis with an additional scene by her former student and a playwright out of Colorado, Lysha Doss. HIS’ production will involve 150 students from kindergarten to Grade 12. “Viewers can expect a night of lovely light comedy and song. Audience will see performances by each of our elementary classes and our elementary orchestra. Additionally from our secondary program, the HIS Symphonic Orchestra and our newest choral ensemble the HIS Royals will lead the night,” says Kaliyah Wood, music director at HIS.
Wood describes Remember the Baby as a telling of the birth of Jesus from the perspective of the Angelic heavenly hosts. “The Angels of Heaven have come to hear the children tell the Christmas story, however one Grump Angel has forgotten why this story is so important and why we tell it every year. The angels and the children tell Grump the story and remind her that the precious baby Jesus came to earth to save everyone from their sins,” she explains.
