YCIS Beijing Brings Holiday Cheer with Secondary School Christmas Concert
On December 15, Secondary School students of all ages performed in YCIS Beijing’s annual Christmas Concert. There were a myriad of holiday-themed performances for the packed audience to enjoy. The concert served as a festive holiday send-off for YCIS Beijing students, parents, and staff. IGCSE and Secondary Music Co-ordinator Lianne Yu had the following remarks on the performances:
The Secondary Concert, a piece of this year’s Winter Wonderland performance series, showcased a variety of performing groups to bring Christmas cheer to the YCIS community. During the concert, we had performances from the Lower Secondary and senior orchestras, the choir, IGCSE classes, a dance number, individual performances, quartets and rock bands. In total, approximately 120 students took to the stage to perform! The show definitely highlighted the commitment and motivation of students to produce high quality, polished performances. Original works and arrangements by our teachers were also performed in small ensembles featuring wind and string groups. We also had many audience sing-a-longs led by students in the audience. A fun and festive time was had by all. Not a Christmas carol was left unsung!
