There are hundreds of animals hoping to find loving homes in Beijing. If you are considering adopting a pet, Doggy/Moggy of the Week will feature animals from volunteer shelters, animal rescue groups, foster care providers, and pet owners needing to rehome animals. This week’s puppy, Chester, is from ICVS’ Adoptable Pets.
Introduction: Hi everyone, my name is “Chester”
Background: I was a lost street puppy found by a shoemaker who took care of me for weeks. My rescuer was too busy for a puppy so a nice lady took me to a pet hospital, where I was examined, dewormed and started on vaccinations. I am now a strong and handsome young boy and ready for a forever family.
Personality: Chester loves people. He’s a happy and active puppy and loves all kinds of toys.
Ideal home: Chester is used to being around lots of people and spending time with other dogs and cats. We hope to find him to a loving, stable and responsible family who can register him legally, neuter him and take him with the family when leaving Beijing or China.
Breed: Small mixed breed dog with short yellow and white hair.
Sex and age: Young male puppy, 6-7 months old.
Medical notes: Chester is healthy and lively and weighs about 5KG. He has already received his first distemper vaccination and first deworming.
Post-adoption care: The International Center for Veterinary Services (ICVS) has enrolled Chester into their Rescued/Stray/Rehomed Pet Adoption Benefits Program. ICVS will provide his new family with significant discounts (up to 50%) on his health examinations and vaccinations and neuter surgery during his first year of life with his new family.
Official Vaccination Certificate: With Chester’s rabies vaccination, ICVS will issue his new family the official Beijing Animal Health and Immunity Certificate (e.g., vaccination red book) at no charge. Chester needs the official vaccination red book to prove he has been legally and properly rabies vaccinated to move to another city or to leave China with his family.
Official Spay/Neuter Certificate for Dogs: After his neuter surgery, ICVS will issue his new family an official Spay/Neuter Certificate that will provide his owners with a 50% discount (e.g., up to RMB 500.00 savings) on the dog license registration fee at the Public Security Bureau.
Puppy and Adult Dog Obedience Training Programs at ICVS: ICVS has introduced new puppy and adult dog obedience training programs. The dog training classes will help Chester and his family live a more harmonious life together! All profits from the puppy and adult dog training programs will be donated to the ICVS Non-Profit Humane Animal Welfare Programs!
