Black smoke filled the sky from a construction site near British School of Beijing‘s Shunyi campus Tuesday afternoon.
Although indicated by one witness that it appeared to be in the area of the Lane Bridge villa complex, a photo showed an area closer to BSB.
The fire is believed to be in a new retail site currently being built. The Beijinger could not independently confirm the location of the fire.
Parents, students, and others approaching the area for school pick-ups and after-school activities should use caution, both due to the fire and the likelihood of firefighting vehicles en route at speed.
