There are hundreds of animals hoping to find loving homes in Beijing. If you are considering adopting a pet, Doggy/Moggy of the Week will feature animals from volunteer shelters, animal rescue groups, foster care providers, and pet owners needing to rehome animals. This week’s cat, is Tommy from ICVS’ Adoptable Pets.
Introduction: Hi everyone, my name is Tommy!
Background: I have been a much loved cat living with my family who has recently had a baby. I welcomed the baby to the family but am somewhat jealous of mommy being with the baby all of the time. I am not quite used to the baby and would be happier in a more quiet home. I came originally from Qatar with my family and would like to find a family that can help me feel loved and special again and the center of attention!
My family is willing to pay for me to stay at ICVS for boarding over the summer months if my new family will be traveling or going home for summer holidays.
Personality: Tommy is a very loving cat who loves attention. He is very docile and likes to sleep anywhere, but sometimes has energy bursts and loves to play and run around. He has a good temperament but needs people to give him a little bit of time and space before he accepts them – then he will love you forever! He is a big guy weighing in at 6kg but is a total softy liking nothing better than to cuddle up on the sofa! He is wary of new people initially but soon warms up to them once he knows he can trust them.
Ideal home: Tommy would be happy with an individual, a couple or a family with older children (e.g., 12 years and older).
Sex, Age, & Breed: Tommy is a beautiful short-haired brown tabby. He is 4-years old and is a neutered male cat.
Medical notes: Tommy is in excellent health! He has been dewormed, fully vaccinated, and is microchipped.
Post-adoption care: The International Center for Veterinary Services (ICVS) has enrolled me into their Rescued/Stray/Rehomed Pet Adoption Benefits Program. ICVS will provide my new family with significant discounts (up to 50%) on health examinations and vaccinations during my first year of life with my new adoption family.
Annual Vaccination Packages: ICVS has wonderful wellness and annual vaccination packages to keep me healthy and free of parasites, fleas and ticks. All of the vaccinations I need every year are included and the packages are discounted by 40-50%! Please contact ICVS for more information!
Official Vaccination Certificate: With my rabies vaccination, ICVS will issue my new family the official Beijing Animal Health and Immunity Certificate (e.g., vaccination red book) at no charge! I need the official vaccination red book to prove I have been legally and properly rabies vaccinated to move to another city or to leave China with my family.
Pet Import/Export Counseling: ICVS will provide my family with unlimited relocation counseling and accurate information to take me with them when it is time to move to another city or to another country.
Door-to-Door Pet Transport Service: ICVS can help my new family arrange for a car and driver service to take us door-to-door for my appointments at the hospital.
ICVS Non-Profit Humane Animal Welfare Programs: Please support and donate to the ICVS Non-Profit Humane Animal Welfare Programs. Your donations support ICVS in helping the many pets like Tommy and the many stray/rescued/abandoned and shelter animals in our community. The pets receive medical care, treatments, good nutrition and socialization with love and compassion that allows them to become healthy adoptable pets.
