The Korean Musical- Laundry In Beijing is a performance that tells the laundry story of normal hard workers who came to Seoul to pursue of their own dreams.
Meet the businessman who is always nervous and cautious when facing his boss, the owner of a supermarket who is irritated and impatient when his customers say “I will pay later”, and the female driver of the shuttle bus always full of people.
These neighbors in a shared apartment expressed their own anecdotes through the course of the musical. The musical depicts the difficulty of living and surviving in a big city, with the realization that their dreams at the very beginning are very hard to accomplish in this kind of circumstance.
Through many kinds of music, characters with different personalities will reflect deeper meanings in life to audiences through simple laundry tasks they need to do. Just like how clothes will get dirty often – even if you are facing many frustrating issues that you cannot solve easily, you can clean the hopelessness off your heart like washing off the dirt from your clothes, and embrace a brand new day with hope and joy.
