Early detection and treatment can save lives.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer type in women worldwide. In China, it is the most common malignancy and also the fourth leading cause of cancer-related deaths among Chinese females.
A study by American Cancer Society lists common risk factors of breast cancer, including those not modifiable (age, family history, and menstruation patterns) and modifiable (the use of menopausal hormones, postmenopausal obesity, alcohol consumption, and breastfeeding).
OASIS International Hospital says early detection and treatment can save lives. On March 5, OASIS will be holding a session of free consultations, in time for the grand opening of its Breast Health Center. Patients with breast cancer, breast lumps, and other kinds of breast conditions and women suspecting of breast cancer are welcome to register.
The sessions will be led by Dr. Zhang Bao Ning, a specialist physician, professor and doctoral student mentor from the Cancer Institute & Hospital, Chinese Academy of Medical Science. According to OASIS, Dr. Zhang specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of breast, digestive and soft tissue tumors and has in-depth knowledge of early detection of non-palpable breast lesions, breast conserving therapy for early breast cancer, breast reconstruction (stage 1) and sentinel lymph node biopsies. He will be joined by Dr. Brian Jia, a surgeon specializing in the treatment of thyroid, breast, and GI tumors.
