There are hundreds of animals hoping to find loving homes in Beijing. If you are considering adopting a pet, Doggy/Moggy of the Week will feature animals from volunteer shelters, animal rescue groups, foster care providers, and pet owners needing to re-home animals. This week’s puppy, Yaya, is from ICVS’ Adoptable Pets.
Introduction: Hi guys, my name is Yaya!
Background: Yaya was a rescued puppy from a group of 9 abandoned dogs straying on an empty building site in Shunyi. Yaya and her 4 brothers were born in early December 2016. The rescuer provided the adult dogs food and water everyday and managed to capture 6 of them. The puppies were hiding in the bushes but the rescuer finally found them and took them to loving friends as foster families.
Personality: Yaya is sweet and playful, she is fine with big dogs. The foster family trained Yaya go to the toilet on puppy wee-wee pads.
Ideal home: Yaya needs a family who is in complete agreement to take on the responsibility of raising a puppy. The family will register her legally and offer her good food and have patience and enough time to train her, teach her to leash walk and spay/neuter her when she is old enough for surgery. As pets are family members for life, taking Yaya with them when leaving Beijing or China is essential.
Breed: Yaya is a short haired mixed small-medium sized breed.
Sex and age: Yaya is a female puppy born in early Dec. 2016 and about 3 months old.
Medical notes: Yaya is healthy and has started on deworming and vaccinations.
Post-adoption care: The International Center for Veterinary Services (ICVS) has enrolled Yaya into their Rescued/Stray/Rehomed Pet Adoption Benefits Program. ICVS will provide Yaya’s new family with significant discounts (up to 50%) on my vaccinations, accompanying examinations and neuter surgery during the first year of life with the new adoption family.
Annual Vaccination Packages: ICVS has wonderful wellness and annual vaccination packages to keep Yaya healthy and free of parasites, fleas and ticks. All of the vaccinations Yaya needs every year are included and the packages are discounted by 40-50 percent! Please contact ICVS for more information.
Official Vaccination Certificate: With Yaya’s rabies vaccination, ICVS will issue her new family the official Beijing Animal Health and Immunity Certificate (e.g., vaccination red book) at no charge! She needs the official vaccination red book to prove she has been legally and properly rabies vaccinated to move to another city or to leave China with her family.
Official Spay/Neuter Certificate for Dogs: After Yaya’s spay surgery, ICVS will issue her new family the official Spay/Neuter Certificate that will provide her owners with a 50 percent discount (e.g., up to RMB 500.00 savings) on her dog license registration fee at the Public Security Bureau.
Pet Import/Export Counseling: Because a pet is for life, ICVS will provide Yaya’s family with unlimited relocation counseling and accurate information to take her with them when it is time to move to another city or to another country. ICVS can provide microchipping, legal rabies vaccinations and rabies antibody titer testing that is required to export pets to the EU and other countries.
Door-to-Door Pet Transport Service: ICVS can help Yaya’s new family arrange for a car and driver service to take us door-to-door for my appointments at the hospital.
