Plastic water bottles are admittedly not earth friendly, and they can be found everywhere – on the street and in your neighborhood. If you happen to have plastic bottles on hand laying around, use it for something useful – a toddler friendly piggy bank that won’t shatter and is easy to open.

Materials Needed:
Plastic water bottle with cap
Craft paint or permanent markers
Paintbrush or Qtips
Exacto knife or regular knife
Scissors
1. Remove the label with scissors
2. Paint your design
3. Cut a slit with a knife (adult help needed). Push your finger into the slit to make it a tad bigger for receiving coins.
4. To get the bottle dry before putting in coins, leave the top off for a day or two.
And there you have it – something quick and easy with most materials on hand.
