The Migrant Children’s Foundation (MCF) is inviting everyone to a night full of fun — and mystery — at A Night at the Oscars. “This year’s Murder Mystery event is different,” said Lorna Snuggs, curriculum and volunteer coordinator at MCF, “…as we will have pop culture references of things that happen at the Oscars,” referring to the Academy Awards.
Murder Mystery is an annual event from MCF that raises funds for a health check program initiated for migrant children aged 4-11 in Beijing. “We’ve been doing Murder Mystery for six years. This year, a lot of kids need to be checked. So to raise funds, we have raffle tickets and prizes,” Snuggs said.
“This year, students from Dulwich (referring to Dulwich College Beijing) will join us for the Oscars night and it will be interactive as the students will go to each table and mingle with guests,” Snuggs said.
MCF has also involved schools at previous Murder Mystery events. Last year, the theme was A Night at the Casino and the organization’s partners at the British School of Beijing, Shunyi (BSB, Shunyi) performed the mystery for the guests. The casino night raised RMB 51,000 which helped support the health checks of about 100 migrant children.
Besides possibly fearing for your life (in a strictly theatrical sense) at this one-of-a-kind murder mystery event, what excuse do you have not to check it out? It’s for a very good cause. Plus, there are many special people out there that would benefit due to your charitable contribution.
