Introduction: Hi everyone, my name is Pawl!
Background: Pawl was rescued in January 2017 during the freezing winter. He was found with matted fur and was very dirty from having been outside wandering for some time as an abandoned dog. A very kind rescuer took Pawl in and cleaned him up and nurtured him back to good health. He is now with his rescuer/foster family and ready to find his forever loving adoption family!
Personality: Pawl is very calm and sweet. He loves everyone including his dog and human friends. He is super patient with kids and puppies and is always ready for cuddles.
Ideal home: Pawl would be happy with an individual, a couple or a family with older children (e.g., 8-years and older). He needs a forever family who can register him, offer nutritious high quality dog food and can devote enough attention to him. He must always be walked on a leash. Pawl is a senior adult dog, so he needs a stable family who will settle down and adopt him as a permanent family member where he may age gracefully in his forever home. If the family leaves Beijing and relocates from China, Pawl must travel with them.
Breed, Sex & Age: Pawl is a male, mixed Shetland shepherd (Sheltie), and about 6-8years old, weighing about 18 kg.
Medical notes: Pawl is fully dewormed, vaccinated and neutered. Pawl enjoys dry dog food and wet food, and fish oil and joint health supplements. Pawl does not like thunderstorms and fireworks, but with patience and understanding he is fine when he is around his human and has a safe space to hide when he gets scared. Pawl is missing a few front teeth, but his eyes are clear and his breath is fresh with no eating problems!
Post-adoption care: The International Center for Veterinary Services (ICVS) has enrolled Pawl into their Rescued/Stray/Rehomed Pet Adoption Benefits Program. ICVS will provide the new adoption family with significant discounts (up to 50%) on vaccinations and accompanying health examinations during Pawl’s first year with his new adoption family.
Annual Vaccination Packages: ICVS has wonderful wellness and annual vaccination packages to keep him healthy and free of worms, fleas and ticks. All the vaccinations and deworming he needs every year are included and the packages are discounted by 40-50%! Please contact ICVS for more information.
Official Vaccination Certificate: With Pawl’s next rabies vaccination, ICVS will issue his new family with the official Beijing Animal Health and Immunity Certificate (e.g., vaccination red book) at no charge! He needs the official vaccination red book to prove that he has been legally and properly rabies vaccinated so that he may move to other cities or leave China with his family.
Pet Import/Export Counseling: ICVS will provide families with unlimited relocation counseling and accurate information to take Pawl with them when it is time to move to another city or to another country.
Door-to-Door Pet Transport Service: ICVS can also help new families arrange door-to-door car transport for their appointments at the hospital.
