Western Academy of Beijing will once again hold their Distinguished Speaker Series this Monday (Nov 13). This time around, the speaker will be someone who co-founded an organization that provides interactive and immersive simulations of experiences like urban poverty, refugee situations, HIV/AIDS, and blindness.
David Begbie will talk about his career and lead an inspirational conversation about how making a small change can have a global impact. Begbie has gained recognition worldwide for being a “voice to the voiceless.”
Begbie directs the Global X-perience programs at the Crossroads Foundation, a non-profit organization based in Hong Kong. The foundation hosts an annual refugee simulation program for the attendees of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Begbie has made several appearances at the acclaimed TED Talk events. In 2012, he spoke at TEDxYouth@DiscoveryCollege on the topic of “helping needs meet resources.” The following year, he told the attendees at TEDxHKUST how addressing a simple need in the world can make a big difference.
