Slots are filling up for the Jing International School Expo Youth Entrepreneurship Competition – get yours in before Monday, January 28!
Participation is free and no experience is necessary – you just need to be a middle or high school student currently enrolled at a Beijing school and form a team of five. The event is held in English so fluency is a must.
Best yet, there are RMB 38,000 in cash and prizes up for grabs – so you’ll not only learn and grow, you’ll walk away with tangible rewards for your efforts.
Administered by professionals and coached and judged by real-life Beijing-based entrepreneurs, the contest is one part of the Jing International School Expo that takes place at the Kerry Hotel on Feb 23-24, 2019.
The top team in each division will receive RMB 5,000 in cash and prizes; the second will receive RMB 3,000, and the third RMB 1,000. All other teams will receive RMB 500 in cash and prizes.
Middle Schoolers (6th, 7th, and 8th graders) will have their workshop at Kerry Hotel on Saturday, Feb 23, while high schoolers will meet the next day, Sunday Feb 24.
Each day starts with an introduction and a challenge, and then moves on to a full morning of learning and brainstorming.
After a break for lunch, students return to hone their idea down to a three-minute pitch. Along the way we’ll have not only professional facilitators but also Beijing-based entrepreneurs on hand to help guide students.
The day concludes in the mid-afternoon with each team making their pitch in front a panel of entrepreneurs, who will rate the students on the basis of clearly-communicated criteria circulated in advance.
Finally, all participants will gather for an awards ceremony (parents, teachers, friends and school administrators welcome) where the winners will be declared and feedback will be offered to each team.
